TO 3) AND (3-5 YEARS) – Week of June 21, 10 to noon PIANO AND GUITAR INSTRUCTION Bay Cagle graduated from North Georgia University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Music Education. Since 1990, she’s taught music in public and private schools as well as private studio settings. Bay is a licensed Kindermusik™ instructor for children ages (18 months to 3 years) and (3-5 years,) and has been teaching private and group voice, piano and guitar lessons at Emerging Healthcare. A native of Pickens County,Bay is Director of Jasper Young Singers and an active member of Tater Patch Players. ($20 private lessons, group lesson fees and class sizes vary. CLASSICAL GUITAR, ROCK GUITAR WORKSHOPS/ PRIVATE LESSONSAdam Craighead has worked with The North Georgia College guitar ensemble and studied privately with accomplished instructors at both North Georgia and Georgia State university. Adam will be graduating from North Georgia University in late 2010 with a B.A. in music performance with a focus in classical guitar. He currently teaches beginner through advanced private guitar lessons. Fee is $25 per half hour lesson, 4 lessons a month. At Shorter Justin was the recipient 2009 of the Olin G. Parker Leadership Award for outstanding leadership in Phi Mu Alpha. Justin has served as pianist and music leader at several churches in the Rome and Pickens County areas and is the Music Director at Aragon United Methodist Church in Aragon, Georgia. Justin is currently pursing a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from Reinhardt University where he also serves as a staff accompanist. He has taught piano to people from 6 years old to 60! MOUNTAIN DULCIMER INSTRUCTION Carol Lesley has a diverse musical background including piano, voice, choral music, guitar, and folk music. She is a licensed teacher and was also a Musikgarten and Kindermusik teacher. Her own music studio maintained an emphasis on folk music and our rich folk heritage. Through the Bent Tree Strings, the Jasper satellite dulcimer playgroup of the North Georgia Foothills Dulcimer Association, Carol has taught 23 students, many of whom have gone on to play with the group for festivals, churches, and clubs in the Jasper area or to play for their own personal enjoyment. Individual lessons are $25.00 per half hour with 4 lessons per month. Group lessons are $15.00 per hour with 4 lessons per month. PHOTO FUN CREATIVE MOVEMENT Crystal Merrell is a member of Cherokee Photography Club, Tater Patch Players, and a Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance Board Member. She is excited to bring her passion for photography and entertainment to the children of this area.
• Photo Fun classes will cover digital camera usage and care, composition, and creative expression. YOUNG PUBLISHERSCareer journalist and author Ms. Patti Pearson invites youth to explore the world of writing and develop excitement and confidence in expressing themselves through the written word. Inspiring and fun writing activities include creating custom greeting cards, self dream collages, song writing, mini-books, and more. Writing career exploration, interviewing techniques, publishing opportunities are also part of the experience. Young Publishers Class Class size is limited to 10. Fee: $25 + $5 supplies per week. THEATRE GAMES ACTING FOR TEENS Ellen Painter graduated from the University of GA with a BFA in drama and theatre. She has acted in regional and children's theatre and has studied and performed in NYC Off Broadway and in soap operas. She has also taught acting to children at The Spruill Center in Atlanta. Ellen is an active member of the Tater Patch Players. Theatre Games (Ages 7-12) This class encourages self expression, imagination, and cooperation with others Acting for Teens This class helps develop basic acting skills using exercises and improvisation.

VOCAL INSTRUCTION Jasper Muse founder Suzanne Shull graduated from Shorter College and GA State University and taught choral and general music in classrooms from elementary through college in the Atlanta area. She has studied classical, pop, and gospel styles with various teachers and will help you learn how to sing with confidence in the styles that you like best. CHILDREN'S ART STUDIOSulaine Sims has taught in Pickens County for 5 years and is currently the art teacher at Jasper Elementary School. Ms. Sims received an education degree from Auburn University and taught in Carroll County schools in GA before moving to Walnut Creek CA where her hobby of drawing became a serious course of study, especially in the area of landscape oil painting. Tweens and teens are invited to class on Tuesday afternoons, 1:00-2:00 or 2:30-3:30Each one hour class costs $15, supplies are included. The summer theme is "Wildlife of Georgia".
